Located in a character-filled house in the heart of the lively port of La Cotinière, Villa Marthe is a restaurant on the island of Oléron, open during the summer season and also present at cultural and sporting events across the region. For the past 10 years, we have been passionately cooking with our BBQ smoker in the restaurant. This type of barbecue allows for slow, low-temperature cooking over a wood fire. We serve French-origin meat, cooked for several hours at low temperature, then smoked and glazed in the BBQ smoker. This expertise gives the meat a melt-in-the-mouth texture, an intense flavor, and a delicious smoky taste. Our specialties include ribs — our best-seller — as well as pulled pork burgers, served with baby potatoes from the island of Ré, chosen for their quality, flavor, and local sourcing. Villa Marthe is also a year-round delicatessen producer, where we make fish spreads, charcuterie spreads, and delicious dessert creams. These are made with farm milk sourced from a farm just 40 km from our workshop, along with simple, high-quality ingredients such as vanilla beans, Valrhona dark chocolate, and coffee beans. Our philosophy: simplicity, with outstanding quality.
